In order for our music video to look as professional as possible, we need to consider the appropriate lighting for each scene. We will also need to take into the account the target audience questionnaire we created, and choose what kind of lighting we are going to use more due to what people prefer.
In the first scene with the microphones, we intend to have lights dangling from the ceiling and on a bench next to them creating a beautiful and romantic effect upon them both. This will be placed behind them so the lights are noticeable and therefore everyone can see the lovely colours. We then want to add some floor spotlights that are directed onto them. This is so their faces are clearly seen when lip syncing. In the same room when we use the silhouette idea, we will use natural lighting from the windows.

In the next scene when they are walking through town, the lighting will be natural since we are going to be filming around midday so we will not need to worry on adding any additional lighting.
When they are lip syncing in the park, we are going to film at a sunset so the sky looks beautiful and dramatic, adding to the intense emotion in this scene. We can also add filters in post-production to add to the shot.
During the photo album scene when he is flicking through, he will also be outside on a bench whilst looking through it. So again we will have natural lighting and not need to worry about any studio lights.
The flashback scenes for the cinema and ice rink will be indoors with no windows so natural lighting will not take place in these shots. They will both consist of low key lighting as we are filming in a cinema screen with small subtle lights and at skating disco which will have coloured lights.
This planning for lighting considerations will help us when creating our music video as we will know exactly what lights to incorporate and when to bring them to the right scenes. That way we will be organised enough to know when we can use the right lights. We have used a varied amount of high key, natural, and low key lighting throughout our ideas for our music video which we think will make the visuals interesting and intriguing for everyone.
